FIELDS OF APPLICATION

IQ FireWatch is able to detect fires in various application fields. In addition to its many years of use in early wildfire detection, IQ FireWatch is also suitable for protecting warehouses and production facilities, as well as other areas and residential neighborhoods near forests from the devastating spread of a forest fire. In addition to detecting fires at long distances, the system is also capable of detecting incipient fire as well as heat in the immediate surroundings. This allows IQ FireWatch to be used for industrial outdoor areas with high fire loads.

 

FOREST

The danger of forest fires has increased enormously in recent years due to the climate change, carelessness and arson. The resulting threats to people, the environment and nature are increasingly noticeable in hot and dry summer months.

IQ FireWatch detects smoke and smoke-like events with a multispectral sensor in real time. Under optimal conditions, the system is able to do that up to a distance of 60 kilometers (40 miles). IQ FireWatch has been in application worldwide for more than 20 years. 

In addition to the continuous development of the components, the detection software has also been optimized and enhanced with modern Artificial Intelligence. Due to the combination of different algorithms for the detection of smoke, and many years of operation under various local conditions, the system is able to achieve a high detection reliability with a very low false alarm rate.

WUI

(Wildland-Urban and Wildland-Industrial Interface)

A wildfire can have devastating consequences not only for forests itself, but also for populated areas near forests, the so-called wildland-urban and wildland-industrial interfaces (WUI). These areas are often used for industrial plants and storage areas, where the location at the edge of the forest is advantageous for specific industries.

Areas where high fire load is stored in addition to the situation described above are particularly in need of protection. Forest edge locations are also popular for camping sites and residential homes, where proximity to nature is of superior importance.
