New IQ FireWatch installations protecting Belgian national parks
With wildfires on the rise, we’re proud to help protect important Belgian natural reserves at the border to the Netherlands with two IQ FireWatch installations, one of those guarding the cherished Kalmthoutse Heide.
Inaugurated on May 16, 2025 on a 42-meter tall watchtower, this advanced system detects wildfires in under 5 minutes across the Belgian-Dutch border park. This capability provides firefighters with a critical edge, enabling them to safeguard this unique region for nature lovers and local communities. The installation marks a significant step forward, built on a strong partnership with Surcom International BV, whose expertise helped bring this project to life. With our 25-year legacy of protecting people, nature and property, this initiative ensures Kalmthoutse Heide remains a safe habitat, preserving its natural beauty and biodiversity for future generations amidst growing environmental challenges.
